My name is REBECCA JOHNSTON, and I feel honored to serve on the school board for Sierra Blanca Christian Academy.  

After attending high school in Albuquerque, I received a BA at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. I am a retired teacher, having taught 28 years, mostly here in Ruidoso. 

My husband Dennis and I have been married for 27 years. We attend Calvary Chapel where Dennis serves on the praise team and I serve as a nursery worker.

Students could get a good education in our public schools, but a great Christian education can’t be traded! I have two grown children who attended Christian School.  The advanced curriculum and small class size benefited them greatly, and the Christian foundation they received has helped them throughout their lives.  Our son is an honors student at Wayland Baptist University planning to go into the ministry.   Our daughter is an active member of her church and plans to complete her teaching degree.  Her oldest daughter attended Pre-K last year at SBCA and is now reading. Her 3 year-old sister will join her at Sierra Blanca Christian Academy this fall.  

Jesus is our life and we feel that Christian education is vital for our community. Ruidoso families can give their children a choice for a firm foundation on the teachings of Christ, in which to build their entire lives upon.
